Last October, my friends grouped together for my baby shower. I was overwhelmed with everyone’s generosity and support for my baby girl to be! I wanted to create something really special as a thank you note.
I definitely took my time creating these cards. I had severe carpal tunnel in my hands and wrists while I was pregnant. It was really frustrating not being able to work on anything during that time, especially since I knew my spare time would soon be pretty limited.
After Lucía arrived I slowly made my way back to the computer. Luckily she was a good sleeper since pretty early on and gave me some free time to work which was nice. 🙂 After taking my time sketching my favorite baby motifs I traced them and brought them into Illustrator.
After browsing cursive style fonts on CreativeMarket.com for hours, okay maybe days? I decided to use Heart and Soul as the main font and Smoothly Cursive for Lucía’s name. I used GotPrint.net’s custom postcard template for the print size and uploaded my files. I received them about a week later and I’m very happy with how they turned out, I just wish her picture on the back didn’t print as dark. 🙁
If you’d like to purchase this same clipart set for use in your personal projects, you can find it in my Etsy shop. Use it to create birthday and baby shower invites, to add to your blog, or for scrap-booking projects! Files are saved as transparent png’s and an editable vector file is included for color changes. Enjoy and happy creating!
