One of our favorite places to visit as a family is the new downtown San Diego Central Library. It’s got a great children’s area, outdoor garden, study rooms, and stunning architecture. I’m always finding something new every time we visit. Needless to say my favorite find is the Library Shop located near the entrance. It’s a must visit before you leave!
The store sits in a cozy corner of the building surrounded by wall to ceiling windows. Natural light fills the room which makes the colorful and playful product displays pop. Their merchandise consists of mostly local artists and vendors and all of the proceeds benefit the San Diego Public Library system. The staff is super friendly and eager to help.
Not only do they sell a carefully selected collection of books. They also sell unique jewelry, fun kid’s toys, gifts and art. You could easily find a gift for any loved one here. Young, old, a foodie friend, a coffee enthusiast, artists, or an art book lover like me.
How gorgeous are these geometric mobiles? I believe this table held all food + drink related merchandise. Very helpful if you’re looking for something specific.
More great finds in the book section. They have new books, classics, and some too funny and unique to not take home.
I love this card display. I so wish I would have remembered the artist’s name but I’m sure I will come across them again. There is something so ‘San Diego’ about these. I know I’d be to be gifted one 🙂
If you’re in the SD downtown area and love unique and quirky gifts and art stop and visit The Library Shop. The passion and effort that goes into putting a curated store like this reflects highly on the staff. Stop by, say hi, and show them some library love!
